Open auditions: Electoral Dysfunctions at the Vortex Theatre

Each play will be approximately 10 pages/10 minutes long and will be fully staged. When selecting plays from the available submissions, shows with minimal costume, set, and property requirements will be given priority. All 8 plays will be assigned a director and cast through open auditions. Each night of the performance schedule (Fri-Sun October 10-November 2) all eight plays will be performed with audience members voting for their favorite. The author of the winning play will receive the $500 prize.

In honor of the upcoming presidential elections, The Vortex Theatre will be producing 8, 10-minute plays which have been solicited by local playwrights for this script-writing contest. The selected plays will be staged and performed as part of the Vortex's "Playfest" weekends October 10-November 2.
